1. Who we are

FitCheck is an AI-powered resume tailoring tool built to help job seekers match their resumes to job descriptions. It is currently operated as an independent project.

2. What data we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to run FitCheck:

• Email address — only if you create an account. Used for login and account management.
• Job descriptions — text you paste into FitCheck. Sent to our AI provider for processing. Not stored after processing.
• Resume content — text you paste or upload as a PDF. Sent to our AI provider for processing. Not stored after processing.
• Saved runs — if you are logged in and choose to save a FitCheck result, we store the role name, keyword score, and verdict. We do not store the full resume text or JD.
• Job tracker data — if you use My Applications, we store the job title, company name, status, and notes you enter.

3. How we use your data

• To process your resume and job description through our AI model and return tailored results
• To authenticate you and maintain your account if you sign up
• To store your saved runs and job tracker entries if you choose to use those features

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the FitCheck service.

4. Third-party services we use

FitCheck uses the following third-party services to operate. By using FitCheck, your data may be processed by these providers under their own privacy policies:

• Anthropic (Claude API) — your resume text and job description are sent to Anthropic's API for AI processing. Anthropic's privacy policy applies: anthropic.com/privacy
• Supabase — used for user authentication and database storage. Supabase's privacy policy applies: supabase.com/privacy
• Vercel — used for hosting. Vercel's privacy policy applies: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

5. Resume and PDF handling

When you upload a PDF resume, it is converted to text on our server and immediately sent to the AI API for processing. The PDF file and the extracted text are not stored anywhere — they exist only in memory during the API call and are discarded once the response is returned.

If you are logged in and click "Save this run", only the role name, score, and verdict are saved — not the resume text itself.

6. Data retention

• Resume and JD text: Never stored. Discarded immediately after processing.
• Account data (email): Retained until you delete your account.
• Saved runs and job tracker: Retained until you delete them or your account.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Request a copy of your data

8. Cookies

FitCheck does not use tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage only to maintain your login session. No third-party tracking or advertising cookies are used.

9. Children's privacy

FitCheck is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of FitCheck after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
